Planned water supply shutdown in Hammanskraal on Wednesday
The water supply shutdown is set to last for 10 hours.

Scheduled work to install a water pipe and gate valves will hinder water supply operations for 10 hours on September 10.
The Tshwane metro, along with Magalies Water, said the Babelegi and Renstown Reservoirs distribution areas of Hammanskraal will be affected.
“The scheduled shutdown is to allow Magalies Water to install 300mm and 200mm gate valves at the Renstown reservoir and town.
“A 450mm inlet pipe to the Babelegi Pump Station is also set to be installed,” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
The metro said this essential operation is carried out to ensure optimum operation of the pump station.
“The operation is expected to last for 10 hours from 07:00 to 17:00.”
The following areas will be affected:
– Babelegi Industries
– Hammaskraal
– Mandela Village
– Marokolong
– Portion 9
– Prestige College
– Ramotse
– Refilwe
– Renstown.
“The metro sincerely apologises for the disruption and appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as the water service provider works to resolve this matter urgently,” said Mashigo.
Residents are urged to use water sparingly during this time by doing the following:
– Do not water gardens
– Do not wash cars
– Do not clean driveways or pavements using hosepipes
– Flush toilets only when necessary
– Close a running tap while brushing your teeth.
