105 new officers bolster Tshwane’s crime fight

A fresh group of constables has joined Tshwane’s police force, boosting visibility and support for key crime-fighting operations.

The Tshwane district has welcomed 105 new constables to strengthen capacity and the fight against crime across the city.

The SAPS District Commissioner of Tshwane, Major-General Samuel Thine, officially welcomed the newly trained constables who have been deployed at various police stations in the city.

A combined duty parade, held in support of Operation Shanela, was used to introduce the new officers to the district’s operational members.

The parade commenced with a short prayer, followed by the reading of the SAPS Code of Conduct, reaffirming the values and responsibilities expected from every police officer.

“The new members are reminded that the foundation of effective policing is built on discipline, integrity, and a strong work ethic,” Thine stressed.

He noted that corruption and unprofessional behaviour undermine the trust communities place in the SAPS and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He called on the experienced operational members to guide the new constables as they settle into their roles.

“Newly deployed… officers must serve the residents of Tshwane with professionalism, pride, and respect, ensuring that their conduct reflects positively on the organisation at all times,” Thine emphasised.

The parade concluded with a renewed commitment from all officers to support policing efforts across the district and to uphold the core values of the SAPS.
