Love is in the air with panoramic views and good vibes at Fort Schanskop

Pretoria’s skyline set the stage this weekend as The Picnic Club’s Valentine’s Edition unfolded at Fort Schanskop, delivering a day that effortlessly blended music, scenery, and social energy.

From the moment guests arrived, the mood was unmistakable, relaxed yet vibrant, intimate yet buzzing. Perched above the city, the historic fort once again proved why it remains a favourite for outdoor gatherings, offering panoramic views and an atmosphere that felt both cinematic and welcoming.

The soundtrack of the day carried the experience, with a dynamic line-up featuring Desmond and the Tutus, Pedro Barbosa, Volk, Bloumoord, and Sozlol 3. Each performance added its own flavour, moving the crowd between easy grooves and high-energy sing-along moments.

Beyond the stage, the event’s signature picnic culture was in full swing. Attendees sprawled across the lawns, enjoying an eclectic mix of food vendors and drinks on sale, while conversations, laughter, and music filled the air. The fashion, as always, became part of the spectacle, expressive, colourful, and effortlessly cool, with Picnic and Thrift adding to the collection of things to do.

True to The Picnic Club’s inclusive spirit, families were a visible part of the crowd. Children made the most of the dedicated Kids & Clamber Club, allowing parents to soak in the experience without missing a beat.

By late afternoon, Fort Schanskop had once again transformed into more than just a venue. It became a shared social moment, defined by great music, striking views, and an unmistakable sense of community.
