Centurion disgusts a resident

This resident is shocked at the state of Centurion, which has been suffering considerably from illegal dumping issues.

A concerned resident from Rooihuiskraal writes:

I write this letter feeling angry, helpless and disgusted at what Centurion is coming to in particular the Rooihuiskraal area.

I was horrified when driving north on Old Johannesburg Road between Escort and Hendrik Verwoerd roads to see that the verge/pavement has become an illegal dumping ground and recycling depot for those who scrounge in our dustbins for plastic bottles and whatever else they are looking for.

The pile of plastic bottles is huge. I have no doubt that these people are also squatting there. Do we as ratepayers really have to put up with this, why are these people not being arrested for illegal dumping? What happened to the status of Centurion being clean and well taken care of?

You just need to drive around in Rooihuiskraal to see how bad things have become. Another example is the highway from the bridge on Old Johannesburg Road at Miracle Retail Park. This area is filthy and needs to be cleaned up.

Tshwane should be doing something about this, so we can all be proud of where we live.
