An evening promised to be filled with fun and laughter, but which will also benefit a good cause, will take place when Barry Hilton, also known as ‘The Cousin’, performs at a fundraising gala banquet at the Sorex Estate in Centurion later this month.
Philanthropist and businessman, Charl du Toit, CEO of The Success Academy, has invited anyone who feels strongly about the plight of rhinos to support the event on Friday, 18 October.
“With over 500 rhinos killed this year so far, we have to improve the surveillance in the parks and wage war against the poachers who infiltrate our reserves,” Du Toit said.
Du Toit rounded up his team in aid of the fight against rhino poaching and decided to support the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (Wessa) in their rhino initiative.
This initiative focuses on training and equipment for rangers, rhino DNA collection and rhino security and intelligence gathering.
All funds that are raised at the gala function will be handed over to Wessa.
The evening promises to be the fundraising event of the year, with the highlight being an auction of lifestyle and fun events and art from some of South Africa’s leading artists whose works deal with a range of topics, so there is something to suit all tastes.
