Neighbourhood rudeness annoys

A resident in Valhalla has been experiencing incidents of rudeness that he thinks may be an abuse of the CPF's authority in the area.

I have been living in Valhalla for 18 years and it is where I grew up. A couple of incidents recently involving a white Opel Kadett and a white Ford Ranger single cab have me concerned. They slow down when they approach our house and each time the occupants in the vehicle take out what appears to be a cell phone and take pictures, I presume. Sometimes even a torch is flashed at us.

In other incidents, they hoot and even ‘flip the bird’ when passing our house.

I do acknowledge the presence of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) in the area, however, if this is a case of someone abusing their power, then we have a problem.

We are not taking these incidents lightly and have the police on speed dial.

Security cameras have been installed on the property, so let this be a warning to the people who are doing this.

It saddens me to see the lengths people will go to in order to make other people’s lives miserable. I urge anyone in the area who has experienced the same thing to get in touch with the Wierdabrug police station and report it.

I love this neighbourhood and I’m willing to take a stand against such rude behaviour so that families, including my own, can sleep without any fear.
