“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence” – Helen Keller.
God works in partnership with us and our duty is to speak life and to pray life. Complaining has never built or established anything.
As a matter of fact, all the Israelites that left Egypt died in the desert, because they were always complaining. I have found in life that you don’t need any anointing to notice a problem, but you do need anointing to solve a problem. Every nation has a history, whether positive or negative, from which it can learn and forge a new future. All the citizens of a nation must have the opportunity to thrive and to reach their full potential.
As citizens, we are called to be salt and light (Matt. 5:13-16). Salt prevents rotting and preserves that which is of value. Light helps us to see. Ps 36:9 says: “In your light we see light.”
A nation’s citizens must be empowered to make good personal financial decisions and government officials must be held accountable to make sound financial decisions that benefit all, not just an elite group of under the table influential acquaintances, family members and friends. We should constantly pray for our leaders. 1 Tim 2:1-3 (NLT) says: “I urge you first of all to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for Kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Saviour.”
Ex 22:28 says: “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.” This scripture states that we must be careful how we speak about our leaders. We must pray, thanking God that Dan 2:21 will come to pass. It says: “And He (God) changes the times and the seasons; He removes Kings and raises up Kings…”. If leaders are evil and unrighteous we may pray that God will remove them and replace them with righteous leaders.
To build a strong nation we must encourage unity in diversity. Ethnicity and language must never divide a people, but should unite them. As Christians “oneness” should be the norm, not division. Non-citizens should not be ill-treated and disadvantaged. We must have respect for cultures that are peculiar and different to ours.
We need good responsible leadership in our churches, in our families and in our workplaces and then knowledge! Knowledge is so crucial to leadership because the world is gradually changing. Your knowledge of two years ago is becoming extinct. We all need to upgrade to the current trends of doing things.
My challenge to you is to believe in this beautiful rainbow nation and to keep praying for Godly change.
