Tshwane teams suffer defeat over the weekend
Downs fail to shine in the land of the rising sun.
Both Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United were left disappointed this weekend, following defeats.
Sundowns were eliminated after going down 2-0 to Japanese side Kashima Antlers on Sunday in the football Club World Cup.
The Pretoria side was eliminated in the quarter-final at the Suita City Football Stadium in Osaka.

Downs started the match brightly and should have been 2 or 3 up before half time but failed to convert any of their opportunities.
The second half saw the men from the land of the rising sun, take advantage of the Brazilians’ poor defence.
After a super through pass from the middle of the park, one of the Japanese strikers did enough to outrun Denis Onyango from a tight angle before crossing the ball to Yasushi Endo, who slotted home the opener.
Naomichi Ueda finished the game off in the 88th minute ensuring his team a semi-final berth.

Back home Supersport United lost 2-1 to underdogs Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Saturday evening.

The team from Pretoria pulled level in the 71st minute through striker Kingston Nkhatha but City had the last laugh when Moseamedi headed home a late winner.
