Sundowns go top after trashing Baroka
The win came after coach Pitso 'Jingles' Mosimane celebrated his 5th year anniversary with the Pretoria giants.
Mamelodi Sundowns are on top of the PSL table after demolishing Baroka FC 4-0 on Tuesday night at the Lucas Moripa Stadium in Atteridgeville.
A win saw the Pretoria side discovering their scoring touch after poor results of late.
The win came after coach Pitso Mosimane celebrated his fifth year anniversary with the Pretoria giants.
Under the former Bafana Bafana mentor, Downs have won two Absa Premier League titles and more so, the CAF Champions League last year.
In the five years in charge, the 53-year-old mentor has since won 86 games, drawn 37 and suffered 24 losses in the league.
Despite having a difficult league season last year (due to CAF commitments), the Brazilians still finished second behind eventual league winners Bidvest Wits.
That followed by a run of poor results this season which saw Downs crash out of the MTN 8 and Telkom Knockout cups.

A poor string of results in the PSL this season meant that the Pretoria side still had a chance to catch up after falling behind.
Downs’ win against Orlando Pirates last month gave Mosimane’s men the momentum they needed to challenge for the title.
Their 4-0 dubbing over Baroka last night indicates that the Pretoria side are now clear favourites to win the league.
After dethroning Baroka, ‘Jingles’ and his men now set their eyes on Cape Town City which they face this Saturday.
Supersport, on the other hand, managed to play to a goalless draw against Pirates.

Those who were expecting goals in this encounter would have been disappointed but the game itself was an entertaining affair.
United should have been two or three goals ahead after Clayton Daniels missed a sitter and Jeremy Brockie hit the post.
One can say if this was a cup final, Pirates should have been well buried as often is the case when they face Matsatsantsa.
Pirates should have stolen the win at second half, but midfielder Mpho Makola shot wide after rounding off the United keeper.
The results mean that Supersport are still in the bottom three on the log while Pirates drop to number three in the league virtue of goal difference.
