Comrades marathon roadshow comes to Pretoria
The Comrades Marathon Association will give prospective participants from Pretoria the opportunity to learn more about how to prepare for this difficult race from experienced experts.
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has been organizing the annual Comrades marathon roadshow for over a decade now.
The aim of the roadshow is to present running workshops and inform runners across the country of all things running-related.
The roadshow programme has grown in popularity and is hosted at various running clubs nationwide. To prepare its runners for the 90th Comrades marathon on Sunday, 31 May 2015, the CMA’s marketing team, headed by Thami Vilakazi, will this year again present a series of 19 workshops across South Africa covering all of the nine provinces.
The roadshow has become an important part of the Comrades marathon marketing strategy and goes hand in hand with the CMA’s training programmes from Comrades coach, Lindsey Parry to get runners ready for peak performance on race day.
“Through the Comrades marathon roadshow the CMA motivates runners to become part of The Ultimate Human Race. The CMA understands that the Comrades marathon is a tough race and many runners do not have access to basic training methods and other know-how to prepare them for Race Day. The roadshow is therefore a great help to many,” said CMA marketing coordinator, Thami Vilakazi.
The Comrades marathon coach as well as other experts in the field of running and motivation will be sharing truly valuable information with the runners who attend the workshops.
Two road-running workshops will be hosted in Pretoria next week. The dates and places where it will take place are as follows:
* 27 January at 19:00: Irene Road Runners club, The Auditorium, Agricultural Research Council, Irene Campus, Olifantsfontein Road, Irene, Pretoria
* 28 January at 19:00: Magnolia Road Runners club. Magnolia Road Runners, 229 Middle Street, New Muckleneuk Brooklyn, Pretoria
