Hard work ahead for Titans Momentum in ODI series

The Titans cannot afford to lose any more games in the Momentum one-day series, which resume this weekend.

The second part of the local Momentum one-day cup tournament starts this weekend for the Titans and hard work is yet to be done if they want to qualify for the semi-finals in three and a half weeks.

The Pretoria team missed the bus totally in the recent Ram Slam T20 series, where they ended at the bottom. They have won only two out of ten games and according to their own high standards, this was a pathetic performance.

Coach Rob Walter and his management will be feeling a little better about their performance so far in the four day Sunfoil series. Halfway through this tournament, which will be resumed after the one-day series, the Titans are currently in second place.

After their struggles in the first part of the Momentum ODI series, during which they could only manage to win two out of five games, the Titans will have to come up with a great effort if they want to end among the top three by 10 February.

Meanwhile Walter announced a thirteen-man squad for the match against the Knights this Friday (23 January) in Kimberley. The team is: Henry Davids (captain), Qaasim Adams, Junior Dala, Theunis de Bruyn, Marchant de Lange, Dean Elgar, Heino Kuhn, Albie Morkel, Mangaliso Mosehle, Rowan Richards, Jacques Rudolph, Roelof van der Merwe and David Wiese.
