Tshwane Open kicks off on Thursday
Tshwane open will take place at the Pretoria Country Club from Thursday to Sunday where 156 professional golfers will compete.

The Pretoria Country Club is gearing up for its first-ever European Tour event in the form of the Tshwane Open that begins on Thursday.
The tournament runs from 12-15 March as a 72-hole stroke play championship with 18 holes played each day with a field of 156 professional golfers.
Tshwane Open spokesperson Michael Vlismas said he expected people to turn up in numbers to watch the international golfers do their thing.
Local stars such as George Coetzee and Richard Sterne were expected to lead the field, followed by former Tshwane champion Dawie van der Walt and European Ryder cup skipper Darren Clarke. Other golfers included former SA Open champions Richie Ramsey and Morten Orum Madsen.
“Tickets to the tournament cost R50 a day for Thursday 12 March and Friday 13 March and then R100 on Saturday and Sunday. On the first two days, golfers will be playing for a spot in the final round scheduled for Saturday and Sunday,” Vlismas said.
The tournament would feature 156 professional golfers, both locals and internationals. Only 64 players would play in the final round.
Vlismas said the four days would not be only about golf.
“We have a play area for kids and open areas for families to have picnics. Celebrities will also be at the tournament,” he said.
Tickets could be booked through TicketPro or purchased at the tournament venue, with the gates set to open at 06:00 every day.
Vlismas said a park and ride service would be operating from Brooklyn Mall, on Veale Street, located on the Brooklyn Square side, next to the Postnet, from 05:30 to 20:30 daily, with the shuttles leaving every half hour except between 13:00 and 16:00 when they would depart every hour.
