The Protea cricket team was in a commanding position by mid-afternoon on Monday in its third test against England at Supersport Park in Centurion thanks to a strong batting partnership between Hashim Amla and Temba Bavuma.
They have built a partnership of 100 runs since lunch, giving South Africa a lead of more than 350 just before tea,
The Proteas started day four of the fouth test on 42/1 but two quick wickets from James Anderson and one from Ben Stokes saw South Africa on 121/4 at lunch.
Amla and Bavuma then combined well in the second innings to put the Protea in a strong position.
Observers were of the opinion that a 450 lead would be enough to give the Proteas victory.
A victory in this test match will see South Africa win their first test match in nine attempts.
Bavuma was dropped on 48 in the 74th over and went on to reach his half century.
