Springbok Opus visits Menlyn Park Shopping Centre
The long wait to see the Springbk Opus is finally over and the people of Pretoria are able to have this privilege this weekend.
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre will be hosting the Springbok Opus on its national tour. The Springbok Opus will be on display in the cinema court of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre from 29 September to 2 October.
It took SA Rugby four years to gather over 150 000 words and hundreds of images to create the ultimate rugby collectable. The Opus weighs 35kg’s.
On Thursday 29 September, from 17.30 to 18.30, Menlyn Park will host Ruan Combrink, Siya Kolisi, Scarra Ntubeni and Handre Pollard, all rugby players currently in the national team. Rugby legends Stefan Terblanche and Dale Santon will be visiting the Springbok Opus display between 12:00 and 13:00 on Sunday 2 October, giving fans an opportunity to meet and greet these Springbok notables.
“We are very excited to be part of the national tour of the Opus and to host such great springbok icons,” says Olive Ndebele, general manager of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre.
Rugby fans from Petoria can alsoo visit the Springbok Opus display to enter an exciting competition with a prize valued at R200 000, including a rare “Captain’s Opus” that is personally signed by 40 South African national team captains, two VIP test tickets, an invitation to attend a captain’s practice session, and a signed captain’s rugby jersey.
Menlyn Park is currently undergoing a R2-billion redevelopment and will become the largest mall in Africa when it relaunches at the end of November.
