Contrasting fortunes for Pretoria teams
While Sundowns contest another final, Supersport have another tough encounter in the league.
The 2016/17 Absa premier league is up and running with the two Tshwane teams experiencing contrasting fortunes.
Supersport United have found the going tough this season having been knockout of the MTN 8 tournament last month by Mamelodi Sundowns.
They now found themselves in 8th position after six games. Coach Staurt Baxter will look to bring his troops back into the form that saw them clinch the Nedbank Cup last season.
On Sunday, Matsatsantsa host new boys Highlands Park at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
Mamelodi Sundowns however, have been the team to watch. Their involvement in the CAF Champions League meant that their attention had to be on three different campaigns.
They go into this weekend having reached both the CAF final and the MTN 8 final.
On Saturday, they will do battle with Wits in Mbombela in the final of the MTN 8 with coach Pitso Mosimane looking to win the elusive MTN 8 trophy.
The last time the Pretoria side won the cup was in 2007.
