On Saturday morning the streets of Southdowns, Pretoria are set to be overrun with crowning glory, with the return of the King Price Irene Farm Race.

An estimated 5500 runners (joggers and walkers) will participate in the third and final leg of the 2016 Irene Triple Challenge (ITC), the King Price Irene Farm Race, hosted by King Price Insurance in collaboration with Irene Athletics Club.

All distances including the super-serious 21,1km half marathon, leisurely 10km, 5km full-on fun run or the kids’ 1km, can be entered for on the day from 04:30 am. Entries may be made up until five minutes before the race.

Athletes who entered for the ITC and who completed the other two legs (Spar Lantern 10km and Clover Irene Spring Race 21.1km) will receive their medals, shield and special t-shirt after completing the 21km race.

Although a gold medal is nice, for King Price the Irene Farm Race is more than a run. It’s an entire family-fun day including fully supervised kiddies entertainment and food stalls.

There will also be several spot prizes and a dress like a king and selfie competitions that will crown the best-dressed athlete and selfie-queen (or king) with a R5000 cash prize each. So, dust off your crown, and shake out those royal robes, while Redbull will be giving away wings.

Easy access will be available from Nellmapius Drive, with parking available at Denel opposite ARC Irene campus.

The starting times for the event is as follows:

• Walkers 10km & 21km: 05:45 am
• Runners 10km & 21km: 6:00 am
• 5km Fun Run: 6:00 am
• Kids Run: 08:00 am (for children 8 and younger).
