Bobbies 3in1 race continues to grow

It's time again for the Pretoria Bobbies Wonderboom Junction 3-in-1 road race which is run in the shadow of the Magaliesberg in the north of Pretoria.

Pretoria Police Marathon Club, in conjuction with Wonderboom Junction, hosts the seventh Pretoria Bobbies Wonderboom Junction 3-in-1 road race on Saturday.

The race will this year also be an official AGN (Athletics Gauteng North) league race.

The partnership between Pretoria Police Marathon Club and Wonderboom Junction already started in 2011.  Since the 1st race in 2011, where nearly 2700 athletes participated, the number of participants just grew annually.  Last year the number of participants increased to more than 4000 athletes.

This event consists of three different races – a 21.1km, 10km and 5km fun run (or walk).  Medals will be given to all participants who complete the race and there will also be some spot prized up for grabs.  This year the organizers will also award a cash prize of R1000 to the club with the most members to complete the race.

Pretoria Bobbies Wonderboom Junction 3-in-1 road race also support the PinkDrive initiative and last year they were able to make a contribution of R20 000 to assist them in their endeavours relating to breast cancer.

The half marathon (21.1km) already start at 05:30, the 10km at 05:40 and the 5km at 05:50. Athletes are requested arrive early as the organizers expect an estimated 5000 participants and there are limited access to the safe parking area on the premises.
