Sharks fight to avoid relegation
Charlton Sharks are in a bid to move out of the relegation zone.
Charlton Sharks defeated All Nations 2-0 in a Super League match at the Muckleneuk sports ground in Mamelodi West on Sunday.
This was a second victory in two consecutive matches in two weeks as Sharks bid to move out of the relegation zone. They beat Lusaka African Warriors 1-0 in a previous game.
Charlton Sharks head coach Moraka Mojela said the win put them in a better position to move out of the relegation.
He said being in the second position from the bottom of the log standings, with 15 points, kept them in danger.
“We have to win all our next matches to prevent relegation.”
In the recent match, both Sharks and All Nations struggled to find the back of the net in the first half despite having created several goal-scoring opportunities. Among wasted opportunities was when Sharks player Ronaldo Ralivzhivha missed a penalty in the 20th minute. The match went into halftime 0-0.
The second half saw Sharks dominating the game and Norman Manamoshi broke the deadlock in the 65th minute.
Matome Makgafela extended the lead through the penalty kick in the 82nd minute.
The fixture to determine which teams Sharks and All Nations will face over the weekend has not been released yet.
