Major setback hit Bulls

The Bulls flyhalf and vice-captain, Handré Pollard, was injured at training on Thursday and will be out of action for a long time.

A huge blow hit the Bulls on the eve of Saturday’s important Super Rugby match against the Cheetahs.

Late on Thursday afternoon the Bulls officially announced that Handré Pollard injured his right ankle during training and he is expected to be out of action for 8 to 10 weeks.

The Bulls said in an official statement Pollard would see a specialist on Thursday afternoon but preliminary diagnosis by the medical team was that he injured his Syndesmosis (right ankle) and that he would need surgery.

Pollard will be replaced by Tian Schoeman, with Francois Brummer who will replace Schoeman on the bench.
