For Diane Broodryk it’s all about community
Diane Broodryk from the Jacaranda FM Good Morning Angels is proud to be associated with the Pretoria SPAR Women’s Challenge.
2017 Pretoria SPAR Women’s Challenge brand ambassador, Diane Broodryk, believes that this year’s race message, #BetterTogether, has the power to unite our community.
Heading up one of the official race beneficiaries, the Jacaranda FM Good Morning Angels, has given her insight into how the #BetterTogether message is bringing people together to help those who need us most.
“The SPAR Woman’s Challenge is one of the first events to be blocked off on my calendar every year. It’s an extremely well organised event with the SPAR team putting thought into each and every aspect of the build-up and the actual race day – the theme, special guests, prizes and surprises, the goodie bags, logistics, medals, entertainment and off course the colour of the T-shirt. Despite being an event of this size and magnitude, attention to detail is never compromised. I am proud to be associated with what can truly be called the most beautiful race,” said the Jacaranda presenter.
Broodryk said the race organising team are like family to her and that race day feels like an annual family get-together.
“I look forward to working with the SPAR family every year and whenever else the opportunity arises. I know that I can approach SPAR with any request and they will assist in whatever manner they can,” he stressed.
She is of course referring to SPAR’s support of the Jacaranda FM Good Morning Angels.
“Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels cannot do what we do without the support of sponsors and our listener community. We all know that we live in difficult financial times and the reality is that the need for assistance also deepens. In times like these, offers of help decrease but SPAR have been a phenomenal partner to Good Morning Angels over many years,” Broodryk explained.
She adds that the donation received from the race proceeds every year provides much needed support in helping them reach their goal to empower, uplift and improve our community in a fun, healthy and beautiful way.
“When 25 000 women put their energy together, amazing things happen and Good Morning Angels is privileged to share in some of that sparkle. Together, we’ve been able to bring meaningful change to incredible people proving that we are Better Together.”
Since the official race launch in May, the #BetterTogether message has been trending on social media and has received an overwhelming public response. Broodryk says she feels that the reason why the theme is resonating so strongly with Pretoria’s residents is because community lies at the heart of the message.
“The idea that we are better together than we are apart is the essence of community – caring about the next person, no matter why. This creates a chain of caring that eventually comes back to you when you need it most and expect it the least. #BetterTogether means strength in numbers – if we each do our bit, there is no limit to the magnitude of good we can do.”
