Another award for local tennis administrator

One of Pretoria's most outstanding tennis administrators were rewarded again for her excellent work.

Tennis South Africa (TSA) Development Manager, Mpho Makhoba on Sunday won her second Gauteng Sport Award under the Technical Official of The Year category.

The outstanding tennis administrator from Atteridgeville in Pretoria gave gratitude to TSA and her family for always being her pillars of strength during her technical officiating journey

“I would like to give thanks to Tennis South Africa for granting me this technical officiating opportunity, I really don’t think I would’ve made it this far if it wasn’t for them. I would also like to extend my gratitude to my family for always believing in my role, especially being a female in this ‘man’ dominating field,” said Makhoba

She said that she was very humbled and delighted to have won this award again this year. The former tennis player feels that this has been a very good year for her.

“I’ve have had one of my best years in tennis this year. Having won two sport awards this year alone is absolutely inspiring, and I hope other technical officials can learn from this achievement and be motivated,” she said.

Makhoba was the first African woman to be awarded with an International Tennis Federation (ITF) silver badge for technical officiating last year, and has ever since started receiving accolades.
