Boxing warriors in action at casino in Pretoria

A seven-fight boxing extravaganza will be presented on Sunday at the Sun Arena in Times Square, Menlyn Maine.

Exciting boxing action returns to Pretoria this weekend and several international stars will be part of the fireworks expected in the ring.

The Battle of the Warriors, a boxing extravaganza, will be coming to The Sun Arena, Times Square on Sunday 26 August.

Eighteen men and women will fight it out for the championship title in what promises to be one of the most exciting international sporting events in the country this year. The matches held feature champions exclusively, lasting nine bouts each, providing riveting entertainment for the audience.

“We’ve secured top athletes in their divisions from around the globe to test themselves in this arena. To celebrate women’s month, Ivana Habazin from Croatia will be getting in the ring with Gifty Amanua Ankra from Ghana. International heavyweight, Vlad Sirenko from Ukraine, will be stepping onto the battlefield against Rocky Kalang from the DRC. What we will see on 26 August, is a real clash of the titans,” said Jani Hebler, of 5th Element Promotions, the organiser of the event.

The entertainment goes beyond the matches, however, and includes performances from South African favourites such as Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels as well as Dozi and his band. The SA Medieval Combat Team will also be displaying their prowess in demonstrations in between bouts, in preparation for the world championships.

It’s not all about the boxing, though. Spectators will also be able to enjoy specially choreographed performances from the current South African champion dance team, as well as witness the gravity defying acrobatics from South Africa’s pole dancing champions.

“With comedy legend, Barry Hilton, as master of ceremonies for the event, it can be certain that Battle of the Warriors will indeed have something for everyone. There is no doubt that this event has indeed brought together the very best of the best,” said Hebler.

Tickets for this exhilarating event are available through Quicket.
