Twizza Super School Athletics Series top contenders announced

The organizers of the Twizza Super School Athletics Series have announced the names of the schools that qualify for the Grand Finals of this series, which will take place in Pretoria on February 1.

The organisers of the Twizza Super School Series recently announced the names of the schools that qualified for the Twizza Super School Series Grand Finale that will take place at the Bestmed TuksAthletics Stadium on Saturday 01 February.

The Twizza Super School Series is a new initiative that came into being in 2019. Two knockout events were held in Pretoria and the Western Cape, respectively, after which the top schools were named for the February 1 finals in Pretoria.

This exciting new school athletics series has one clear goal in mind – to crown SA’s best athletics school. The winner, who will be announced in Pretoria on February 1, will according to the sponsors take home the biggest trophy in South African school sport and bragging rights for one year.

“We were absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm and talent shown at both the Twizza Super School Series Regional Qualifiers. If this is anything to go by, then the Grand Finale is going to be a showstopper,” said Lance Coertzen, Twizza Group Marketing Manager.

Only two provinces in South Africa will not be represented at the final event. These are Kwazulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. At this point, however, it looks like there will be a titanic battle between the Western Cape and Gauteng’s best athletics schools.

Local schools that qualified for the February 1 grand final are Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool, Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria, Hoërskool Akasia, Hoërskool Centurion (only boys), Hoërskool Eldoraigne (only boys), Hoërskool Garsfontein, HTS Pretoria Tuine, Hoërskool Menlopark, Midstream College, Hoërskool Montana, Hoërskool Oos-Moot, Prestige College Hammanskraal, Pretoria Boys High School, Tuks High School, Hoërskool Uitsig, Hoërskool Waterkloof and Hoërskool Zwartkop.
