Kruger sisters both receive wildcard invitations to second tournament in Potch

After their good performances at last week's first Ilana Kloss International tournament in Potchefstroom, both Kruger sisters were invited as wildcard entries to participate in the second tournament with the same name.

Several young South African players, including former Springbok and Bulls star Ruben Kruger’s two daughters, have been given wildcard entries into the second week of the Ilana Kloss International.

The second week of the Ilana Kloss International runs from Monday, February 15 to Sunday, February 21 at the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus.

In the Ilana Kloss International, South African top women’s player Chanel Simmonds will lead the country’s charge in the main draw at the Women’s ITF $25,000 World Tour event.

Simmonds is joined by fellow South Africans – Zoe Kruger, Isabella Kruger and Suzanie Pretorius, who were awarded main draw wild cards into the event.

The 15-year-old Isabella Kruger, did brilliantly as a qualifier at the first Ilana Kloss International tournament last week and the organizers of the second tournament invited her this time as a wildcard entry.

The Kruger sisters impressed last week, with Zoe reaching the quarterfinal round after losing to unseeded Anna Bondar of Hungary on Friday.

Isabella was a breakout star last week, qualifying for the main draw and reaching the second round before falling to fourth seed Reka-Luca Jani of Hungary.

Tennis South Africa also announced the five women who have been awarded wildcard entries into the qualifying tournament.

Players receiving qualifying wild cards for the second week of the Ilana Kloss International includes, Katie Poluta, Ntokozo Zungu, Delien Kleinhans, Leigh van Zyl and Mari-Louise van Zyl.
