Missing elderly man safe and sound

A man who suffers from dementia and got lost on his way to a bank at Centurion Mall has been found.

The 69-year-old man who went missing for almost a week, was found on Wednesday afternoon in Johannesburg.

The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Johan Zeelie from the Wierdabrug police station, confirmed these reports.

“The community helped a great deal in this investigation,” Zeelie said.

Alen McNeill was last seen in Rooihuiskraal last week when he was on his way to a bank in Centurion Mall.

McNeill suffers from dementia.

“He was a bit disorientated when we found him, but he is now safe at home,” said McNeill’s son Druian.

More information could not be obtained at the time of publication.
