Matric pupil won prize for best Afrikaans speaker at public speaking festival.
Caitlin-Jessica Bremner was awarded with best speaker in two categories at the Public Speaking Festival.
A very successful Public Speaking Festival was held and organised by Lyttelton Manor High School for 16 English high schools from 10 to 22 May. There were over 650 entries in the English and Afrikaans sections and pupils participated in individual speeches as well as in teams of four.
The 17 adjudicators commented on the high standard of the speeches and how well the speakers could express themselves.
Caitlin-Jessica Bremner, a matric pupil at Lyttelton Manor High School, was the winner in the Senior Afrikaanse Beste Spreker and Senior Afrikaanse Beste Onvoorbereide Spreker.
The winners were as follows:
Senior English Best Speaker: Isa van Zyl from Crawford College.
Senior Afrikaanse Beste Spreker: Caitlin-Jessica Bremner from Lyttelton Manor High School.
Junior English Best Speaker: Brenton Tustin from Cornwall Hill College.
Junior Afrikaanse Best Spreker: Anastacia Rombolakis from Sutherland High School.
