Man poisons himself to death

Police have opened a case of suicide after a man was found dead in a car in Doornpoort on Tuesday evening.

Spokesperson Constable Rosette Makgatho said it is believed that the 38-year-old man died from poison on Airport Road.

“The man was found in a white VW Polo and we found poison on him. It seems he poisoned himself,” she said.

Makgatho could not confirm that type of poison that killed him. “The type of poison he used can only be determined after an autopsy is done. The man had been identified and he is from Kameeldrift,” she said.
