Frates Road, 24th Avenue

Since last year, Rekord has reported on numerous accidents in Frates Road and at the 24th Avenue crossing.

On 12 November 2013 this infamous road claimed the life of a father of two. Freddie Biggs was on his way to a friend’s house when he was in an accident on the corner of Frates Road and 24th Avenue. He was declared dead on the scene.

After many other accidents and petitions, the Tshwane metro finally closed the intersection to protect drivers and pedestrians.
