Dog killers loose in Hermanstad
Dog poisoning a concern for residents of Hermanstad since crime has increased with the poisoning taking place.
Dog killings to pave the way for committing crime unhindered have become a cause of serious concern for Hermanstad residents.
They are fearing for their animals’ lives since several dogs have been poisoned by thieves in the area.
They said the culprits used the infamous Two-step to poison to kill their dogs.
A resident, who asked not be named, said he had been living in the area for 43 years and the problem had never been as bad as now.
“Criminals have taken over our area and are killing our animals.”
He said locals were living like prisoners in their own homes as they had to beef up the security of their homes.
“Our society has become so bad that we live like prisoners in our own homes. At night we are caged like animals. We end up getting electric fences, burglar bars, and high fences around our house and alarms just to keep ourselves safe. How could people protect themselves around the clock if their dogs were now getting poisoined?” the resident said.
“Everyone says we need to get involved in the community but when we do we become a target for the criminals.”
Comment from the police could not be obtained immediately.
