X-Men: Apocalypse starts showing at Nu Metro Menlyn Park and Woodlands in Pretoria (along with cinemas nationwide) from Friday, 20 May. It will screen in the Scene Xtreme cinema at Nu Metro Menlyn Park – featuring world-class Dolby 7.1 sound along with superior picture quality (courtesy of RealD’s large-format Precision White Screen technology for sharper digital 3D projection). The film will also be showing in Nu Metro’s standard 3D and 2D cinemas.
X-Men: Apocalypse sees the return of the director (Bryan Singer) and most of the cast from X-Men: Days of future past – the previous film in the X-Men movie franchise. It stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne, among others.
Since the dawn of civilisation, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from this world, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it, and recruits a team of powerful mutants – including a disheartened Magneto – to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which Apocalypse will reign.
As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven, with the help of Professor X, must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse continues the superhero blockbuster-trend of 2016 so far – it is destined to be yet another blazing box office hit with spectacular, larger-than-life special effects, adrenaline-fueled action and edge-of-your-seat suspense.
