Faerie Glen – Peace and Quiet In Pretoria East

Nestled on the southern slopes of the Bronberg Mountain Range, this protected conservation area is littered with hiking trails, home to a nature reserve and its 2000 residents enjoy a village style community to boot. Faerie Glen is almost too good to be true.

Set on the slopes of the gorgeous Bronberg Mountain Range, Faerie Glen is a little bit of wilderness in the Jacaranda City. With numerous hiking trails and a nature reserve to enjoy, this close-knit community might be enjoying one of the most unique urban lifestyles on offer anywhere in South Africa.

The reason being, even though it’s home to a nature reserve, it provides quick access to the Eastern Central Business District of Menlyn, OR Tambo airport, N1 and N4 highways, hospitals and leading schools. Faerie Glen properties generally have lush gardens with big trees and views of the mountain range. The suburb, almost surprisingly, offers more affordable property for sale in Pretoria than you’d expect, and it’s even more interesting that it meets lower price points than some of its neighbouring areas.

Gerhard van der Linde, Seeff’s MD in Pretoria East said “Faerie Glen is one of the older developed areas in Pretoria East and no more open areas are available for building big sectional title developments. There is however 4000 sectional title units in the suburb and any unit in a good condition which is priced correctly will sell without difficulty. Properties sold in Faerie Glen in 2017 were only on the market for 30 days on average.”

Faerie Glen consists of the old neighbourhood and the “new” Faerie Glen. The old part of the neighbourhood tends to be more freestanding family homes with gardens and townhouses while the newer part consists of smaller, modern homes. Duets, townhouses and estate homes make up the new part  of the neighbourhood. Regardless of which part you buy a property, or live in, it’s sure to be a fantastic way to enjoy modern amenities without losing touch with nature.
