Local iron woman helps those in need
These good deeds were done by Veronica van der Neut of Pretoria Gardens, who was recently named the brand ambassador for Classic Regency International beauty pageant.

Since the start of the national lockdown, a resident from the west of Pretoria has done her part to help those in need.
These good deeds were done by Veronica van der Neut of Pretoria Gardens, who was recently named the brand ambassador for the Classic Regency International beauty pageant.
She was set to leave for Nevada, Las Vegas, in July this year, but due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the trip was rescheduled for next year.
In a previous interview, Van der Neut told Rekord her role as brand ambassador was to make a difference in the community.
Which is why she has been involved in several projects during the lockdown.
One such project was when Van der Neut started a fundraiser for baby clothes and accessories.
“I collected baby clothes and accessories for a girl who was expecting a baby,” she said.
“She does not have a source of income and lives in a small room.”
Van der Neut said she also supported women and children who lived under “adverse circumstances”.
“I care for the underprivileged,” she said.
“To do this, I collect clothes from size 0 months until 5 XL for women, men and children.”
She also collected shoes and food.
Van der Neut also handed out food, sweets, toys and clothes for children who lived on the street who had nothing.
“No child should ever go hungry,” she said.
She has also donated blood during this time.
Van der Neut grew up in Messina and in Louis Trichardt.
In her career, she has taken part in many beauty pageants, but mostly she has been a voice for full-figured women and women in general.
“My job is also to be the voice for all the women in the world,” she says.
“They have to follow their dreams and work on them. It can come true if you believe and trust. ”
She was a special guest in the programme Skelmpie where they talked about a“big woman with a small man”.
“I also had to give advice to big women,” she says.
She works as a secretary at the military’s skills development department.
Van der Neut is married and has three daughters and one grandchild.
