Man stabbed by ‘friend’ in North

A 31-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a friend in the upper body.

A 28-year-old man was stabbed, allegedly by a friend, at the corner of Cecil Avenue and Bitterbessie street in Sinoville on Sunday morning.

Emergency service Medi-Edge said the incident took place around 00:10.

“Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male was stabbed in his upper body with a knife,” the statement read.

“The patient received treatment on the scene before he was transported to a hospital.”

“With the quick response of the Sinoville CPF, Tshwane Metro police department and Sinoville SAPS, one suspect was arrested.”

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk said the man was allegedly stabbed by a friend who was arrested the same morning.

“A 31-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his friend in the upper body,” Van Dyk said.

He said the group had been at the victim’s home when the alleged perpetrator called the victim outside to talk to him.

“One other guy was inside the house and ran out to see what was happening.

“When he realised what had happened, he held the perpetrator down and called the police and medical assistance.”

He said there were no indications that a fight had taken place between the two.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital.
