North teacher collapses and dies
The teacher collapsed near a water fountain at the school and was later certified dead.

A teacher at the Central secondary school in Soshanguve died after collapsing at the schools premises on Friday.
Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona said the 48-year-old female teacher collapsed near a water fountain and was taken to a nearby office by her colleagues.
“The emergency services was immediately called. Unfortunately paramedics certified her dead on their arrival at the school,” he said.
Mabona said district officials immediately visited the school to provide necessary support and advised that the school be dismissed following the shocking incident.
The department’s pyscho-social team and employee wellness team will visit the school on Monday to offer support.
MEC for education Panyaza Lesufi said he was devastated by the news that came at a difficult time as the country was facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We would like to convey our sincere condolences to the family and the school community,” he said.
“We want to assure the family that they are in our prayers during this time of grief. We will facilitate a memorial service to celebrate her life, in the near future.”
