Choc to host virtual quiz on Mandela Day
Choc is appealing for people to commemorate Mandela Day by donating R67 each to their foundation.

The Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (Choc) will host a national virtual Mandela Day quiz on Saturday, 18 July.
Choc is appealing for people to commemorate Mandela Day by donating R67 each to their foundation.
Over the past couple of years, the foundation readily pledged 67 minutes of their time and every day thereafter to change the world through community work.
As a result of Covid-19 restrictions, all Choc fundraising events (both internal and external) and Choc Cow sporting activities have been cancelled.
Choc has already suffered a significant loss of income.
“It will not be possible for you to spend 67 minutes volunteering,” said regional Choc manager Ina Schomper.
“Therefore, we decided to spend Mandela Day in the comfort of your home.
“We are so excited to introduce to you the Choc national virtual quiz. You can compete against your fellow countrymen to see if you are indeed the smartest person in South Africa,” added Schomper.
Schomper said competitors will be entered into a provincial quiz based on the details provided when they make their donation.
“The top three winners in each provincial quiz will receive prizes.
“The top 10 winners from each province will be invited to participate in the playoffs at the end of July 2020 and the winner will be the Choc national virtual quiz champion and the smartest person in South Africa.”
Once you have made your donation you will receive an email with a link to register on the quiz site.
“Any device will work – your phone, tablet or laptop. The quiz is done electronically and consists of 100 multiple choice questions. The quicker you answer the higher your score.
“We are so excited about this fundraiser and look forward to having you join us,” she said.
The quiz will start at 19:00 on 18 July.
On Youth Day this year, the Bulls, in cooperation with Choc, raised a total of R45 000 for children living with cancer.
