Businesswomen of the Year honoured at cocktail dinner

A cocktail dinner was hosted for the 2018 winners of the Businesswomen of the Year awards of the Limpopo branch of the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa (Bwasa) at Uhuru Lifestyle Emporium in the city last Thursday evening.
This year’s theme was ‘The Economy is a Woman’ and Lerato Sekgobela, Cate Oliphant and Katryn Celliers were honoured as the winners in the Youth Entrepreneurial, Emerging and Established categories, respectively. Joint winners Molatelo Mashabane and Maria Kanjere, Connie Morgets and Joanah Ngoasheng were the winners in the Professional, Corporate and Social categories, respectively.
Sekgobela is the publisher and editor of a tourism magazine, Oliphant is the founder and managing director of a paint manufacturing business and Cilliers is the owner and Managing Director of Limpopo Beauty Modelling Academy. Mashabane is the Director and Head of the School for Legal Practice of the Law Society in Limpopo, a board member of the School of Law at the University of Venda and co-owner of two fast food outlets.
Kanjere is a professor at the Turfloop Graduate School of Leadership at the University of Limpopo. Morgets is an executive financial advisor with Old Mutual and Ngoasheng is an author, motivational speaker and founding member of the Mmane Joanah Humanity Foundation.
