POLOKWANE – Mall of the North (MotN) hosted their annual Mall of the North Marathon on Saturday.

The race has over the years proved to be popular among runners as it is also a Comrades qualifier.

Led by the Polokwane Athletics Club, beginner and seasoned runners took on the challenge, reporting for either the 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km or 5km events. “The race was a huge success and we had a lot of runners.

“We thank everyone for being part of the race this year, especially those who ran for the first time,” MotN marketing manager Mari Delport said.

Director of the marathon and member of the Polokwane Athletics Club, Corrie Calitz congratulated all participants.

“Well done to all who participated. Young or old, seasoned or beginners, you successfully completed the race at your own pace. That shows dedication and passion. Let’s do it again next year and thereafter.”
