POLOKWANE – The Nirvana Premier League Season 6 concluded in Nirvana on Sunday, with Pocha Lions crowned champions after dominating hosts Nirvana Royal Challengers in the final.

The tournament was organised by Faizel Ramdala, who also umpired during the final.

Family and friends braved a cold and windy Sunday morning to support their favourite teams.

A dominant final performance

The final saw hosts Nirvana Royal Challengers take on Pocha Lions in a closely anticipated clash. The Pocha Lions, however, produced a dominant performance to secure the title, leaving the Nirvana Royals as runners-up.

Man of the match

Pocha Lions player Aaron Phangiso was named man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance. He finished with four wickets taken for the loss of 10 runs in his four overs.

Fighter of the match

Nirvana Royal Challengers player Aoun Shah was named fighter of the match for his all-round effort. Shah scored 29 runs off 25 balls before contributing with the ball, finishing with figures of one wicket for the loss of 23 runs in four overs.

Organiser thanks contributors

Tournament organiser Ramdala thanked all the members and players for contributing to a successful season and final.

He also acknowledged the team responsible for keeping score throughout the tournament, namely Fayzaan and Fahad Ramdala, Aadil Dodi, Huzifa Hansord, Razin Patel, Farhan Dhalech and Rizwan Patel, for their contribution throughout the season.

“I would also like to give a special thanks to our videographer Irfan Patel Akku for always making sure that the games go live online, so that people who can’t make it to the event can watch the live feed in the comfort of their own homes or wherever they are,” Ramdala said.

He also thanked the fellow umpires who officiated throughout the season, including Collin, Abid Patel, Toisf Patel, Izzaq Mambalo, Faizul Ramdala and Ikram Malji. Ramdala and Malji officiated the final.

“Your hard work didn’t go unnoticed, thank you,” Ramdala concluded.
