How-to of responsible gambling with workshop for Generation Y
The National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP) launched a youth awareness programme

The National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP) launched a youth awareness programme in Polokwane on Saturday with the aim of teaching Generation Y (Millenial Generation) how to take risks wisely.
The workshop focused on creating an educational and awareness platform for young people between the ages of 18 and 35 years. It also aimed to generate an understanding of some of the common risks associated with risk-taking among young people, which could result in experimenting with drugs, gambling, alcohol or risky sexual behaviour.
Dr David Molapo, a motivational speaker and Dr Heidi Sinclare, a psychiatrist at NRGP were among the guest speakers during the workshop. According to NRGP consultant, Sbongile Mbiko, the prevention of gambling problems is the main thrust of the NRGP. “This means in addition to treating people with gambling problems, we also seek to ensure those who gamble will be able to make fully informed consumer choices by having a good understanding of the dangers involved in gambling and how to avoid them.”
