Road race for a good cause

POLOKWANE – The Ranch Charity Road Race was held last Tuesday, with 267 athletes competing in this popular competition.

The race was an initiative of Mrs Polokwane 2012, Izette Fuchs, which Mrs Polokwane 2013, Anda-Lucia Jordaan, continued. “The race was a major success and I truly hope Mrs Polokwane 2014 will keep the event running,” said Anda-Lucia.

Proceeds of the race will go towards Hope for Children and Help in every Burden (Hieb).

Results:

Men’s 10km winners:

• Roan Visagie – junior category;

• Joseph Moloto – open category and 40 years and older;

• Bobby Sacco – 50 years and older;

• Phillip Entres – 60 and older.

Women’s 10km race winners:

• Liza-Marie Troskie – junior category;

• Elizna Kotze – open category and 40 years and older;

• Andra Muller – 50 years and older;

• Filicity Robberts – 60 years and older.

Men’s 21.1km race:

• Guppy Wilkenson – senior category.

• Walper Mabasa – 40 years and older;

• Johan van der Westhuizen – 50 years and older;

• Hannes Engelbrecht – 60 years and older.

Women’s 21.1km race:

• Amelia Houpt – 40 years and older and senior category;

• Sandra Eloff – 50 years and older.
