POLOKWANE – Former resident, Maruschka Robinson and her boyfriend, Jean-Pierre Malan appeared again before the Randburg magistrate’s court last Wednesday.
They are to spend the next few weeks in jail until their next appearance before the court next year.
The pair has been charged with the murder of Dustan Blom.
Four other suspects will appear with them in court on January 16, 2014.
The magistrate was apparently waiting for more forensic information before granting bail to the first two accused.
Four other men, two brothers, Hein and Louis Heinrich, Ian Maniyka and Alex de Koker appeared in court for a bail hearing.
The four were charged on two charges each of fraud. Bail of R10 000 each was granted to Hein Heinrich and Maniyka, but they said they could not afford the bail.
Louis Heinrich’s bail was refused as the result of another case against him, and De Koker was not released on bail. It is believed the kingpin of the “syndicate” was still at large.
The accused withdrew around R120 000 between September 18 and 27 from Blom’s credit card account. They were caught on CCTV cameras, along with a yet to be unidentified man.
Blom’s body was found in the boot of his car in the parking lot of Montecasino on September 22 after he went missing earlier.
Robinson, who originally lived and went to school in Polokwane, was arrested on September 24 and Malan on September 27.
