THE Seshego police are investigating a murder case after a Pakistani national was shot dead during a business robbery at Madigorong village outside Moletjie Moshate recently.

It is alleged that three unknown men entered the shop by cutting through the burglar bars and made off with airtime vouchers, cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

“One of the Pakistan shop keepers was shot once in the thigh as the men were running away. He was then rushed to Moletjie Clinic, but was pronounced dead on arrival. He was identified as Nawaz Alif,” said Seshego police spokesperson, WO Mothemane Malefo.

“A case of murder and robbery has been opened. No arrests have been made yet.”

• In another incident, a 21-year-old man was killed during a house robbery in Ramongwana village in Moletjie. It is alleged that the homeowner walked in on the burglars. A fight ensued and one of the burglars was killed. “The homeowner was arrested for murder and appeared before the Seshego magistrate’s court. He was released as there was not sufficient evidence,” said Malefo.

An inquest was opened.
