POLOKWANE – A 70-year-old man appeared before the Seshego magistrate’s court after allegedly killing his wife last Saturday evening.
Seshego police spokesperson, WO Mothemane Malefo, said the couple reportedly had an argument and the husband allegedly stabbed his wife in the head and fled the scene. The woman’s body was found by family members, who called the police.
Malefo said the police received information on the whereabouts of the suspect and with further investigation he was arrested last Monday.
He appeared in court last Wednesday and the case was postponed for a formal bail application to Thursday.
The suspect remains in police custody.
The police urged couples that were having problems to seek counselling or any other professional help to avoid such fatal incidents occurring.
