A man from Makupong was arrested in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old woman. This comes after the police were told by residents that they had found a corpse in his house.
According to the Leboeng SAPS, the informants stressed they had seen flies coming from the window of the house and that there was also an unpleasant smell. They were curious and entered the house, where they found the decomposed body of a young female.
“They suspected she might have been strangled and assaulted. Our investigators also discovered that the woman and the suspect were living together and he never reported the matter to the police,” Sibatana said.
It is not known when the man will appear in court, at present he is still in custody awaiting trial.
The police advised the public to report any form of abuse and further condemned the behaviour of abusive men.
