Door-to-door campaign takes to the streets to inform

POLOKWANE – On Saturday the Westenburg police launched an initiative to reclaim the streets of the city from criminals.
The purpose of the door-to-door campaign held by the Westenburg police in partnership with the Westenburg community policing forum (CPF), Polokwane cluster CPF and the department of safety, security and liaison, was to get people out of their houses and to reclaim their streets through mass participation in partnership with policing and street committees.
The participants gathered at Nirvana Primary School, where everyone was briefed on what their duties for the day were.
Thy focused on were Rainbow Park and Nirvana.
Information leafelets on crime prevention were handed out, residents were educated on who their CPF members were and participants offered safety tips to residents.
Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, Westenburg police spokesperson, said 103 households were visited in Rainbow Park, 123 in Nirvana and 75 in Westenburg.
