MECKLENBURG police are investigating the murder of Mpho Mohlala of Maandagshoek village.
The remains of three-year-old Mpho, who went missing on February 4, was found in the bushes outside the village by three men who were collecting fire wood. They found the remains near the Ta Lethamaga Crèche that Mpho attended. Mecklenburg police spokesperson, Maj Martin Seabi, said the little girl’s remains were found on Saturday. “When police arrived at the crime scene, they only found the bones of the deceased. We asked family members to identify the clothes that were found with the bones. They confirmed that Mpho was wearing the same outfit that was found on the crime scene when she went missing,” he said.
“The circumstances leading to the murder are still unclear and police investigations continue.”
Seabi said the police needed the help of the community to catch the person or people responsible for the death of Mpho Mohlala. Anybody with information on this case can contact Seabi at (015) 615 0204 or 076 918 5331.
