POLOKWANE – Anna-Elmarie Pieterse is the winner of the local KFC Add Hope campaign.
She won a Ghost Bike SE – 2920 model from Ghost Bikes South Africa and Saloojee’s Cycles.
The hand-over of the bike was held at Saloojee’s Cycles last Wednesday.
To win the bicycle, customers had to SMS R5 to 36933 or R10 to 38966, with all proceeds going towards the KFC Add Hope campaign.
According to Alex Calvin of Ghost Bike, the bicycle Pieterse won was worth R10 000 and was new in the market.
“KFC approached our company to come on board and sponsor the competition. The bike is most suitable for mountain biking challenges and it is originally from Germany,” said Calvin.
“With the SE 2920, any trail is a ton of fun.”
He said the Add Hope campaign was a good initiative and a good campaign to get involved with.
Ebrahim Saloojee, Saloojee’s Cycles owner said the store was honoured to be part of charity campaigns such as the KFC Add Hope.
The prize consisted of the Ghost Bike SE – 2920 model, as well as gorgeous cycling accessories such as a Cratoni helmet and sunglasses with a rear light for safer cycling to the value of R10 000.
Pieterse thanked all the sponsors for the prize and said they gave her a reason to start racing again. “I am happy to have won this wonderful bicycle and I will take good care of it so that it can last me for many years.”
Cheray van Blerk, KFC Polokwane marketing manager said the Add Hope campaign looked forward to hosting other competitions in the near future to raise money for charity.
