UL brings science to the masses at popular mall

POLOKWANE- The University of Limpopo’s Science Education Centre (UL SEC) celebrated National Science Week with displays of interesting science experiments at Savanah Mall from Thursday to Saturday.
National Science Week was celebrated from August to 9.
The UL celebrates National Science Week annually with displays to interest the public in science.
National Science Week is an initiative of the department of science and technology and is managed by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement.
This project seeks to reach out to the South African public to raise awareness of science and technology.
The annual celebration involves stakeholders and role players who take part in science-based activities and is run in all nine provinces simultaneously at multiple sites per province.
Sandile Rikhotso, programme coordinator of UL said the science exhibition and demonstrations at the mall is part of their outreach activities as a science department.
“We want everybody to discover how amazing and important science is. Our goal is to encourage young budding scientists.”
