POLOKWANE – Primary school learners from several schools in the Capricorn district will participate in the district round of the English Enrichment Competition at Nirvana Primary School today (Thursday) and tomorrow.
The learners who will participate already competed in the circuit and cluster levels that were hosted over the past two weeks.
There are various categories in the competition, which include:
• Unprepared reading for gr. 3 learners;
• Prepared speech with four topics to choose from for gr. 6 learners, and
• a spelling bee and pronunciation of words for gr. 4, 5, and 6 learners.
Nkholo Gama, a member of the education department’s Pietersburg circuit committee, said the aim of the competition was to improve the learners’ English language skills.
