Polokwane water supply under strain: residents urged to use water sparingly

Water supply within the municipality is currently under strain and cannot cope with the demand. The reservoirs are very low, resulting in water shortages in some residences in high lying areas.

The problem persists even though Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is pumping more water to Polokwane. Residents and members of the public are urged to use water sparingly and refrain from watering gardens.

Reservoirs are currently reading:

  • 50ML= 10%
  • 30ML= 0.00%
  • Potgieter= 88%
  • Ext 34= 95%
  • Seshego= 52%

Saving water is a collective responsibility; let us therefore preserve this scarce commodity.

We will supply water through tankers to areas which are experiencing shortage as and when necessary.
